Queensland Road was named by developer Wyllie and Ufnal Ltd.
Queensland Road runs north from Lorne Avenue and serves as the main access road to other streets in the Queensland subdivision.
Queensland Road was named by developer Wyllie and Ufnal Ltd., consulting engineers based in Etobicoke. The name originates from another company owned by Wyllie and Ufnal Ltd. called Queensland Management. That was the company that developed the 127-acre Queensland subdivision, between the Avon River and Lorne Avenue, and west of Patricia Road and Redford Crescent. Construction of the subdivision road and services began in the summer of 1978. Chester Ufnal chose the name Queensland because it seemed appropriate for the British and Shakespearean influence on the city. Source: Streets of Stratford, 2004.
