R.J.Beatty was chief Constable for the city of Stratford from 1933 to 1945. Before that he was a Ontario provincial police constable with a post in Perth Count In 1945 he was replaced as Chief of Police by A.T. Day
He and his wife Elizabeth were listed in the Stratford City Directories in 1928. He was shown as a Provincial Constable living at 207 Ontario Street. Later the couple lived at 273 Cambria Street.
Robert died in 1957 . He and Elizabeth are buried in Bruce County.
